Danish Cord Stool Workshop

In this intensive style workshop, students will be introduced to the fundamentals and
techniques necessary for building furniture. We will focus on traditional joinery, discuss proper proportions, and the finer details of design, that will culminate in a contemporary Danish modern stool with a woven Danish cord seat. Machinery orientation and setup will be be covered, as well as finish applications, and the 2 over 2 Danish cord weaving process. Each student will leave with their own finished Danish cord stool!
This class will meet at ACBA's main building and will be held in their woodshop.
Required Materials:
•Safety Glasses/Eye protection
•Hearing Protection (ear plugs, ear muffs)
•Closed toe shoes
•Tape measure (6’, 12’, or 25’ will work)
•Pencil and paper for notes and shop use
*All other supplies will be provided including wood, where you will have your choice of: Cherry, Maple, Oak, or Walnut.

Redux Contemporary Art Center may cancel any class with insufficient enrollment; students will be notified and given a full refund. If a student withdraws at least 8 days before the class begins, they will be refunded their tuition minus an administrative fee. If a student withdraws within 7 days before the class begins, no refunds will be given. Students are not enrolled until complete payment is received. Redux will not pro-rate or offer make-up days for student absences.
