Description:
Luke DePolo, a skilled oil painter, invites you to join his Plein Air Landscape Oil Painting class, a two-session experience set in the beautiful Hampton Park just steps away from Redux. Designed for beginners and intermediate artists alike, this course guides students through the essential techniques of painting directly from life—embracing the ever-changing light, atmosphere, and energy of the outdoors.
Working en plein air, students will learn how to translate what they see in the real world. Instruction will cover foundational principles such as composition, color mixing, and brushwork, along with key landscape concepts including atmospheric perspective and capturing light in real time. Special attention will be given to simplifying complex outdoor scenes and responding confidently to changing conditions.
All materials will be included (including the easel/palette/chairs). Absolutely no prior oil painting experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment as oil paint is one of the most popular mediums used by artists all over the world. Additional Notes: Since this class is outside, there is a chance that class will need to be rescheduled due to incliment weather. Also, since the class is outside, be sure to bring sunscreen, water, and anything you need to feel comfortable.

REFUND POLICY
Classes/Workshops: Redux Contemporary Art Center may cancel any class with insufficient enrollment; students will be notified and given a full refund. If a student withdraws at least 48 hours before the class begins, they will be refunded their tuition minus an administrative fee. If a student withdraws within 48 hours before the class begins, no refunds will be given. Students are not enrolled until complete payment is received. Redux will not pro-rate or offer make-up days for student absences.
