Description: 

Oil paint is very different from water-based media, but with a little direction, it can open up a world of possibility and advancement in your technique.  First-place winner of the 2024 Artfields Portrait Contest and “Best in Show” winner of the 2024 Piccolo Spoleto Juried Exhibition shares his personal methods of creating an oil painting.
 
This course guides students on all levels from the basic application of oil paints to modeling light, color, and form. Students will be working from a selection of printed reference material or photos of the student’s choice.  Students with very little drawing experience may choose to trace the proportions onto the canvas if they wish.

 

This is a solvent-free class and materials will be provided!

REFUND POLICY

Classes/Workshops: Redux Contemporary Art Center may cancel any class with insufficient enrollment; students will be notified and given a full refund. If a student withdraws at least 48 hours before the class begins, they will be refunded their tuition minus an administrative fee. If a student withdraws within 48 hours before the class begins, no refunds will be given. Students are not enrolled until complete payment is received. Redux will not pro-rate or offer make-up days for student absences.
