Description:
This course focuses on studying the nude human form in oils. First-place winner of the 2024 Artfields Portrait Contest and “Best in Show” winner of the 2024 Piccolo Spoleto Juried Exhibition reveals his secrets for creating accurate and dynamic figures, in a limited amount of time. Using the trusty “duotone” method, we will learn to very quickly turn out portraits in oil from live models. This technique may stand alone as a way of making quick head studies, or may serve as a way to begin a more advanced portrait. This technique may, in fact, be used to create any type of oil painting. Toward the end of the course, we will get the chance to apply our practice on some longer poses.
This is a solvent-free class and materials will be provided!

REFUND POLICY
Classes/Workshops: Redux Contemporary Art Center may cancel any class with insufficient enrollment; students will be notified and given a full refund. If a student withdraws at least 48 hours before the class begins, they will be refunded their tuition minus an administrative fee. If a student withdraws within 48 hours before the class begins, no refunds will be given. Students are not enrolled until complete payment is received. Redux will not pro-rate or offer make-up days for student absences.
